Finally a Tuesday morning without rain! A beautiful day for one of my favorite, scenic rides and I hope all 21 riders enjoyed it. As an added bonus today we got to enjoy an exhibit of sixteen large papier-mâché alebrije creations on Raspberry Island. Alebrije sculptures are a style of Mexican folk art - odd creatures originally appeared in a fever-induced hallucination by an artist in the 1930's who went on to re-create them upon his recovery. And the genre has carried on.
This lovely day ended with an unfortunate accident when one of our riders slipped in mud on the trail and took a nasty tumble on the return trip. A big Thank You from me and from that rider to all those who assisted with getting her medical attention, the logistics of getting her bike home, and for your patience with the interruption to the ride.
